As an act of support for the open source project, I set up a tremulous server in a VM on 0011. It seems to be working alright. If anyone is interested in maintaining it, let me know, and I’ll set you up with an account.

  1. Did you install from a Ubuntu (or other distro) package or from source?

  2. There’s an Ubuntu-only deb on apt (apt-get install tremulous-server). The hardest part was getting Ubuntu installed (see the post about the debootstrap scripts), which, compared to a lot of other stuff, was very easy. Besides installing the server program, I just had to install screen and add “screen -d -m tremulous-server” to rc.local so it starts on boot (there’s no daemon program at this time).
